“I answered all her late-night knocks, but when I needed help, she told me to call someone else” — complains the lady
AND lady caused emotional reactions on the Internet after she told how her repeated kindness to her neighbor was not reciprocated when she ended up needing help herself.
The woman shared the story on social media, explaining that her neighbor once knocked on her door late at night after experiencing a power outage.
According to her, she gave the neighbor a warm welcome, allowed her to charge her phone, and even stayed up talking to her until the early hours of the morning.
She said similar visits continued over time and she never complained because she believed kindness and support should naturally exist among neighbors and friends.
Late night services have reportedly become routine
Narrating her experience, the lady explained that she never considered the relationship one-sided because she genuinely cared about helping others whenever they needed help.
“Her power went out and she said she just needed to charge her phone for a few minutes. I let her in, made tea and we talked until almost 1 am. Two weeks later she came again with another problem, and yet I welcomed her without hesitation because I believed that this is how people should treat each other.”
A car breakdown changes her perspective
The lady said that months later her car broke down three blocks away and she decided to call the same neighbor for help.
However, she claimed the woman sounded irritated and asked if there was anyone else she could contact.
The incident has since sparked conversations online about one-sided friendships, emotional support and the importance of mutual kindness.
