Durosinmi targets Super Eagles legacy after first call-up

He writes attacker Rafiu Durosinma he opened his ambitions with Super Eagles after receiving his first call-up to the Nigerian senior national team ahead of 2026. Unity Cup in London.
The 23-year-old forward was included in Eric Chelle’s squad for the four-nation tournament, which was scheduled to take place from May 26-30.
Durosinmi is among several new faces called up as the Super Eagles begin preparations for their semi-final clash against Zimbabwe.
The striker only joined Pisa in January and has so far scored once for the Italian side. However, he impressed earlier in the season with Czech club Viktoria Plzen, scoring 13 goals in 30 appearances before securing a move to Italy.


Striker responds to the first call
Speaking in an interview shared on the Super Eagles official social media page, Durosinmi admitted that he felt emotional after learning of his call up to the national team.
“I was so happy because it is a great honor to be invited among the many talents from Nigeria, all over the world,” he said.
“I sent a message to my family, my agent too, and they were all happy.”
The former striker of Viktoria Plzen described the invitation as a major turning point in his football career.
“It means a lot to me. It’s a great honor to wear the jersey. It’s a dream come true,” he added.
Durosinmi is setting a big target for the Super Eagles
Durosinmi also revealed that he hopes to build a lasting legacy with the national team and become a player remembered by Nigerian fans.
“I want to finish my career as a legend. I want to be someone who played for the Super Eagles,” said the forward.
“A name that will be remembered as someone who gave his best and was one of the best.”
The striker now bids to make his senior debut when Nigeria face Zimbabwe in the Unity Cup semi-finals on Tuesday in London.
