“I’m afraid of marriage” – The Ice Prince spills

- Ice Prince, a 39-year-old Nigerian rapper, is having doubts about marriage.
- His views on relationships were influenced by observing modern marriages.
- He noticed that many marriages fail shortly after the wedding.

Nigerian rapper, Ice Prince (39), explained why he is not rushing into marriage, saying that his perception was shaped by what he sees in modern relationships.
In a recent podcast interview with media personality Rufai Oseni, the rapper said he often witnesses marriages break up shortly after marriage, which is why he was cautious about settling down.
He also pointed out the financial strain many people face when planning weddings, noting that some friends even seek financial help from him just to afford the wedding ceremonies. According to him, he prefers not to expose himself to such pressure.
The Ice Prince added that marriage is something he might think about later in life, perhaps around 40, citing examples of people he admires, such as rapper MI Abaga, who got married at that stage.
Besides marriage, he shared some of his future ambitions, saying he hopes to one day go back to school and eventually try his hand at farming.
He also hinted that he might step back from actively releasing music albums by the time he turns 40, as he anticipates transitioning into another phase of his life.
His words…
“These days I’m more and more afraid of this marriage thing because I see people get married and in less than a year they want to get out. I see the drama people go through to get married, the stress of borrowing money. My friends keep asking me to borrow money to get married and I don’t want to be that person… I hope it will be maybe when I’m 40. Some of my mentors got married at that age – someone like MI Abaga got married at that age. Maybe when When I’m that age, I probably won’t think about it.
I also have other goals when I’m 40. I intend to go to school. I really want to go to school and I would like to run a farm when I am that age. I don’t intend to put out albums when I’m 40…”
