Nollywood veteran Shaffy Bello has sparked reactions after she shared her views on commercial sex work and how society perceives it.
During a recent appearance on the Moraya Show, Bello suggested that some women may choose sex work as a means of survival or to meet urgent financial needs.
She noted that she does not condemn individuals who engage in trade, adding that if someone finds themselves in such a situation, they should do it with dignity and self-respect.
However, she also advised that women who turn to sex work due to difficult circumstances should not stay in it for long, but look for ways to move on when possible.

“If what you’re doing now is ‘running girl’ to make money, you don’t have to stick around. I understand that, I never judge. If you’re going to be ash, do it well. Do it well with respect and full chest.
“Don’t stay there, though. If that’s what you have to do now to earn a living.. Some girls do it because they need to feed their mom, send their younger ones to school. I understand that. Don’t stay there, though, my dears,” she advised.
