Nigerian gospel singer Tim Godfrey and his wife Erica have shared insights into how their love story began and eventually led to marriage.
The couple opened up about their relationship during an appearance on Teju Babyface’s podcast, where they reflected on their four-year journey together.
Tim Godfrey revealed that they met through a mutual friend. He explained that he had previously made a personal decision to stop looking for a partner if he did not find a wife within a year. But while he was abroad, a friend sent him pictures of several women, and Erica immediately caught his attention.
According to him, after they finally met, he had to deliberately go ahead and “fight” for their relationship before it developed into marriage.
Erica also shared her side of the story, confirming that they were introduced by a mutual friend. She admitted that upon meeting him, she silently wondered if their relationship would eventually lead to marriage. She further revealed that Tim first expressed his intention to marry her when she picked him up at the airport.
She added that after their wedding, she often prayed that their relationship would remain strong and that her husband would not develop feelings for any other woman.
Recalling the moment at the airport, Tim said that as soon as he saw Erica walking towards him, he was convinced she was the one and boldly told her she would be his wife.
He also noted that Erica was already established by the time they met, describing her as independent, successful and settled, with a good job, a car and her own home.
