“He risked his life to hide us during the crisis in Kaduna” — Lady recalls the Muslim who saved her Christian family

AND lady shared the emotional story of a Muslim man who protected his Christian family during the violent crisis in Kaduna State, risking his own safety to keep them alive.

The woman recounted the experience on social media, recalling how she was still a child when deadly violence broke out in Kaduna.

According to her, the respected Hausa Muslim sheltered her family in his home even though he did not know them personally.

She explained that the man allegedly denied hiding Christians in his house when the gunmen arrived looking for victims.

The man protected foreigners during the violence

In her narration, the lady said that the man put his own life at risk by lying to the attackers and swearing in the name of God that to convince them that no one was hiding in his house.

“During the Kaduna massacre, a Hausa man, a respected Muslim who did not know us, kept me and my family hidden in his house. When the killers came and asked if there were any Christians there, he told them that there were none. He even said ‘Wallahi’, betraying his faith and risking his own life just to protect us.”

Lady returns years later to pay her respects to the hero

The lady explained that this memory remained with her for the rest of her life. She said she later returned to Kaduna as an adult to look for the man but discovered he had passed away before her visit.

The moving story has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians praising the bravery and humanity of the late man regardless of religion or ethnicity.

Similar stories of Muslims protecting Christians and Christians protecting Muslims during social crises have already emerged from conflicts in Kaduna and Plateau State.
