“I became an excellent father, but a miserable husband” – Jim Iyke opens the story of a failed marriage

Nollywood actor Jim Iyke has opened up about the emotional struggles that led to the end of his marriage, revealing that he lost his spark in life and became overly devoted to fatherhood.
In an interview with Chude Jideonwo, he revealed that fatherhood completely overwhelmed him during a difficult period in his life, admitting that his wife suffered because of the emotional changes he was going through.

“I lost my spark and my wife suffered because of it. And then I became an obsessive dad. I gave everything inside of me to my son. I was a real stay-at-home dad,” he said.
Jim Iyke revealed that he is at the end became a better father than husband, explaining that the situation affected his relationship after his wife could no longer recognize the man she married.
The veteran actor said he was honest with his wife about his emotional struggles and told her he wasn’t sure how long it would take for him to heal and be himself again.
“I became an excellent father, but a miserable husband. After a while she said: ‘I can no longer find the man I married.’ I told her, ‘I don’t know what I need to get well and recover.
If you want to wait for me, I would appreciate it. And if you can’t, I would understand.’ She said she couldn’t, so we shook hands and parted as friends.” he added.
