“God will trouble those behind these attacks” — Pastor Leke Adeboye prays over insecurity

Pastor Leke Adeboye sparked reactions online after offering emotional prayers for Nigeria following reports of insecurity, kidnappings and attacks affecting schools and communities across the country.

Speaking during a church gathering, the priest asked how criminals can break into schools and kidnap innocent children without resistance from citizens and authorities.

He called on Nigerians to unite spiritually against those responsible for violence and insecurity in the country.

The priest calls for spiritual action against criminals

“How come they came to kidnap children from school and we did nothing? Even if you couldn’t do anything physically, we can create a problem for them spiritually.”

The pastor urged the faithful to pray that those behind the attacks in Nigeria face confusion and exposure.

That is why we are asking you to join hands… that all those who are disturbing this nation will be disturbed by the almighty God. There will be confusion among them. They would not be calm. Wherever they are, they would make mistakes or mistakes that will expose them.”

He also prayed against individuals who allegedly sponsor or secretly support criminal activities, asking God intervene if they refuse to change their behavior.

Nigerians react to viral prayer

The remarks quickly circulated online, with many Nigerians supporting the prayers and expressing frustration at the worsening insecurity in parts of the country.

Others, however, argued that in addition to prayers, stronger government action and improved security measures are urgently needed.

Nigeria has witnessed several kidnappings and attacks on schools in recent years, and religious leaders, activists and citizens have repeatedly called on the authorities to take decisive action to protect lives and restore public confidence.
