Adeleke backs Tinubu ahead of 2027 presidential election, says ‘he is our father and leader’

Ademola Adelekethe governor of Osun state, has officially endorsed the president Bola Tinubu’s the ambition of re-election in 2027.

Adeleke called the endorsement a “moral and development-driven” choice that has benefited Osun State and the Yoruba people.

Speaking after inspecting the ongoing works on the Ibadan-Ile Ife-Ilesa road, the governor had no hesitation in declaring his support for Tinubu, whom he described as “our son, father and leader”.

“As the governor of Mr. President’s hometown, how can I have mine in the saddle and think twice before hugging him?” asked the governor.

Adeleke said he considered himself privileged, along with Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to have a “glorious son” of Yoruba descent at the helm of national affairs.

The governor described his position as outside of partisan politics and based on appreciation for federal investment in the state.

He commended the speed and quality of the works on the Ibadan-Ile Ife-Ilesa expressway, saying it would improve access to important towns in Osun and complement the infrastructural initiatives of his administration.

Adeleke said that since 2022, his government has rehabilitated several federal roads and rebuilt more than 300 km of state roads.

He expressed the hope that the Federal Government will soon compensate the state for the federal highways that have been reconstructed and revealed intentions to seek approval for the reconstruction of the Osogbo-Ilesa route.

Adeleke also commended the president for approving the Ibadan-Iwo-Osogbo and Gbongan-Akoda highways.

“On August 15, democracy will win with God and the people. “The president consistently advocated for free and fair elections,” Adeleke stated.

“As a government, we will use all available legal methods to ensure a free and fair election on August 15 and beyond. We understand and think that the President had good intentions for Osun State.
