De Zerbi’s Tottenham survive relegation drama but West Ham go down

Tottenham Hotspur preserved their Premier League status on the final day of the season, securing a hard-fought 1-0 win over Everton.
João Palhinha’s decisive strike was enough to see off West Ham United, whose dominant 3-0 win against Leeds United proved to be in vain.
A thrilling finale in North London
The pressure was palpable as Tottenham went into the final game knowing that defeat coupled with a West Ham win would end their Premier League status.
Despite the poor record at home this season, Roberto De Zerbi’s players were at their best. The decisive moment came in the 42nd minute when Palhinha hit the net and sent waves of relief through the home crowd.

Everton pushed for an equalizer in the second half but Tottenham’s defence, led by standout Micky van de Ven, held firm under intense pressure.
De Zerbi’s influence proved decisive
The turnaround is largely attributed to manager Roberto De Zerbi, who took over at the end of March to steady the ship.
Replacing Igor Tudor, the Italian manager instilled a renewed sense of faith and tactical discipline within the squad.
