Fubara’s brother announces gubernatorial ambitions under NDC, promises one-term leadership

Blessing Fubara, brother of the Governor of Rivers State Siminalayi Fubaraannounced his intention to run for governorship under the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

Fubara made the statement ahead of the party’s primary election, in which he pledged to serve only one term if elected to office.

He described himself as a ready, competent and energetic candidate, who promises to restore peace, stability and economic prosperity to Rivers State if given the opportunity to lead.

Speaking during the declaration, Fubara said the political situation in Rivers State has deeply affected the people and cannot be ignored. He added that his ambition is aimed at restoring the soul of the state and the country as a whole.

His statement comes after his brother he withdrew from the APC governorship primaries and promised to support any candidate who wins.

The NDC primary election is expected to play a major role in shaping the party’s preparations ahead of the next governorship election in Rivers State.
