Nollywood actress Sophia Chisom, popularly known as Soso, has stated that kissing on screen is strictly a professional act and should not be mistaken for something pleasurable.

She made this known in response to recent comments from some actors who complained that they had never experienced a “good kiss” in the film industry.

Speaking during an interview with TVC, Soso explained that she deliberately keeps her on-screen kisses minimal and controlled. According to her, she does not use her tongue during the kissing scenes and ensures that her teeth remain closed, thus limiting the act to lip contact only.

She added that she is very careful about physical boundaries on set and that she is not comfortable exchanging saliva with multiple colleagues, stressing that intimate scenes are purely part of acting, not romance in real life.

In her own words, she suggested that expecting a cozy kiss on set was unnecessary, noting that “it’s just a job” and must be approached with professionalism, not emotion or enjoyment.

“I don’t think it’s right to exchange saliva with every person you work with,” she implied, adding that actors should focus on making scenes believable, not on personal satisfaction.

Her comments come shortly after some Nollywood actors, including her frequent collaborator Saga Adeola, publicly revealed that on-screen kisses are often not comfortable, saying they have yet to experience a truly “good kiss” on set.
