AND man shared his harrowing experience after sacrificing his university education and personal ambitions to support his girlfriend’s studies in the UK, only to later discover she had married another man abroad.
The man, whose emotional story has surfaced online, revealed that he and the woman had been in a relationship for five years and had been making long-term plans together before she moved.
According to him, he left the University of Lagos to work and financially support her dream of studying abroad because he believed their future depended on her success.
The relationship changed after the move
Narrating the incident, the man explained that communication between them initially remained stable after she arrived in the UK.
However, things reportedly changed months later as she became distant and stopped communicating regularly.
“My girlfriend and I were together for five years. We shared dreams, made promises and planned a future together. I left Unilag to support her education and sponsor her schooling in the UK because I believed her success was our success.”
The discovery of the secret marriage leaves the man devastated
The heartbroken man said he later discovered through the woman’s younger sister that she had married a white man abroad without informing him. He added that she blocked his number after that, leaving it uncapped.
