“If an Igbo man was president, Nigerians would flood the streets protesting against insecurity” — complains Lady

AND lady has caused a lot of reactions on social media after he stated that the public’s reaction to the insecurity in the country would be different if an Igbo man was currently in office as president.
The woman made the remarks during an online debate on insecurity and national leadership, arguing that religious leaders and citizens would have reacted more aggressively if the situation had occurred under a president from the southeast region.
Her comments quickly sparked a debate online, with users sharing divided opinions on ethnicity, politics and the role of religious leaders in national affairs.
The lady questions the silence of the religious leaders
In her remarks, the lady says many influential Nigerians who are usually vocal during national crises have remained silent despite the growing insecurity in different parts of the country.
“If an Igbo man was the president of the country and the country was facing the level of insecurity we have now, Nigerians would have flooded the streets in protest. The pastors and Papa G.Os would call him names from the pulpit, but now everyone has become speechless and silent. Everyone knows what they are doing.”
Social media users reacted to the statement
The statement has since sparked fierce reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing that ethnic bias affects political criticism, while others argued that insecurity remains lingering a national issue regardless of who is in power.
Nigeria has witnessed repeated debates over ethnic representation and leadership responsibilities in recent years.
Similar discussions were held during previous administrations whenever insecurity, economic hardship or political unrest intensified across the country.
