The 2025 Miss Universe pageant is set to take place in Thailand, bringing the pageant to Bangkok for its seventy-fourth edition. A total of 120 competitors from around the world will take part in the event which will be held on 21 November 2025 at the Impact Challenger Hall in Nonthaburi.
He will represent Nigeria Onyinyechi Basil. She is 25 years old and studied biochemistry. Her interest in maternal healthcare began after the loss of her brother, which led her to found Nwanyi Bu Ife, a group working to make maternal healthcare more accessible in different parts of Nigeria. She later launched the Reach Moms Initiative, which supports women in rural communities with access to hospitals, childbirth education and basic necessities.
Onyinyechi grew up with her father in a small apartment and often refers to that period as an example of how ambition can grow from limited circumstances. Her Miss Universe biography also highlights this part of her past and the message she wants to present on the international stage.
We will see this year’s selection Victoria Kjær Theilvig of Denmark to hand over the crown to her heir. As a contestant from Nigeria, Onyinyechi is bringing global attention to the work she is doing in women’s health and the issues facing many mothers-to-be in underserved communities.
