Sadiq Umar in action as Valencia beat Barcelona 3-1 in the La Liga final



Valencia they secured a 3-1 win against Barcelona in their 2025-26 final La Liga match on Saturday night at the Mestalla stadium.
Barcelona opened the scoring through Roberto Lewandowski in the 60th minute, but Valencia took the three points with goals from Javi Guerra, Luis Rioja and Guido Rodríguez.
Nigeria international and Valencia forward Umar Sadiq took part in the game, coming on as a substitute in the 80th minute and helping to seal the victory.
Deadlock in the first half
Both teams played the first 45 minutes defensively without goals. Barcelona controlled large chunks of possession but struggled to break through Valencia’s back line, with both goalkeepers rarely tested during the opening exchanges.


Barcelona takes the lead
Lewandowski broke the deadlock on the hour mark and gave the visitors a 1-0 lead.
However, the lead was short-lived, as Valencia responded decisively in front of its audience.
Valencia’s late push
Guerra equalized for the home team in the 66th minute before Rioja put Valencia ahead five minutes later.
When the game went into stoppage time, Guido Rodríguez scored Valencia’s third goal, sealing a comeback victory in the final round of the regular season.
