If you have 4a–c hair, you’re probably already smiling. Because seeing Coco Gauff in this new one Miu Miu campaign, with her natural hair pulled back into a neat low bun, just strikes a different chord.
On the court, where she currently ranks 3rd in the WTA rankings, she appears focused and disciplined. Off the court, she’s growing in fashion in a way that’s true to who she is, and this look reflects that just as clearly. A vibrant red short-sleeved polo shirt is neatly tucked into a navy blue pleated mini skirt, creating a clean, confident contrast.
The style leans in that familiar preppy direction Miu Miu often returns. Black leather loafers, white frilly socks, and then an oversized Vivant leather bag, giving the look a more relaxed finish. As Coco said, “a big bag day means my Miu Miu Vivant can carry almost anything I need,” followed by a brown heart.

And while clothing holds its own, it’s the online response that really brings it all together. Comments quickly go beyond clothes and fall on something more personal. For young black women who wear their hair natural, seeing a black woman on the world stage with her hair styled like this carries weight.
“Seeing a black girl with natural hair,” one person wrote. Followed by another with “Love ur hair sista.”
From there, the reactions continue to develop. “So naturally beautiful without effort. I don’t even need makeup.” And then this message, which reads like a complete message of affirmation: “You look beautiful and perfect and your makeup and hair are absolutely perfect. PLEASE don’t let anyone else tell you that this is otherwise beautiful and that you are the queen of waves. I am very proud of you.”
Others are short and direct. “Fresh on and off the tennis court.” “I love EVERYTHING about this.”

It’s a fashion campaign, yes, but it’s also one of those moments where people immediately see themselves in it — and they don’t hold back about it.
