‘They were loud during Jonathan era’ – Izzy Curious tackles Adeboye, Soyinka for silence amid growing insecurity

Content creator Izzy Curious has sparked backlash online after calling out prominent Nigerian personalities Pastor Enoch Adeboye and Wole Soyinka through their supposed silence about the current state of the country under president Bola Ahmed Tinubu amid growing insecurity.
According to him, both were more outspoken during the administration of former President Goodluck Jonathan, but remained silent despite the worsening difficulties in the country.
In his own words he said:
“You see these two men, these so-called highly respected elders, Pastor Adeboye and Wole Soyinka… These men had such loud voices when things were not so bad during the Goodluck Jonathan era.”
Izzy Curious further argued that their silence under the current administration is disappointing to many young Nigerians who once saw them as outspoken advocates on national issues.
He also stated that personal benefits and political interests could be the reason why some influential people no longer speak boldly about rule and difficulties in the country.
“Now it is convenient for them to keep quiet when things are terribly bad under Tinubu’s regime. Because of what goes into their pockets,” he added.
His comments drew mixed reactions online, with some Nigerians agreeing with his criticisms while others defended the dignitaries.
One user wrote, “People always shut up when their favorite candidate comes to power.” Another wrote, “Wole Soyinka always said when it was necessary, people should stop dragging him unnecessarily.”
The video continues to trend on social media as debates about governance, activism and public silence under different administrations intensify online.
