Atiku gets Sokoto ADC endorsement for 2027 presidential election


The African Democratic Congress (ADC) Sokoto State chapter has elected a former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as a presidential candidate for the 2027 elections.
Muktar Magori, the party leader, made the announcement on behalf of other stakeholders at a press conference in Sokoto on Sunday.
Mr Magori, a former Chief of Staff to former Governor Amin Waziri Tambuwal, stated that ADC supporters and other stakeholders in Sokoto State had reached an agreement.
“This decision is a preparation for the party’s presidential primaries and general elections in 2027,” he said.
According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), a number of ADC leaders in the state attended the press briefing, including former Commissioner for Information, Dahiru Maishanu, former Head of Service, Abubakar Muhammad and the state chairman of the party, Abdullahi Maigwandu, among others.
The former vice president is one of the three presidential candidates in the ADC under the leadership of David Marko. The other candidates are Rotimi Amaechiformer Minister of Transport, and Mohammed Hayatu-Deen.
