According to the lady, the man initially believed the money was a surprise gift from his wife and became extremely emotional and grateful after receiving the bank alert.
She explained that he allegedly showered his wife with praise and affection before later deciding to confirm the details of the transaction through his mobile banking app.
“A colleague of mine rejected a ₦3 million gift sent to him by his wife because of the narration of the transaction. According to him, he woke up to the alarm, praised her endlessly and even got extremely affectionate in the bedroom before finally logging into his bank app to properly check the money. Then he saw: “Contribution for the house project,”“, she added.

The lady further claimed that immediately after seeing the story, the man changed his attitude and allegedly returned the money to his wife with the description: “Contribution for house project rejected.”
The story has since generated mixed reactions among social media users in Nigeria, with many discussing pride, ego and shared responsibilities in marriage.
