Former AAC governorship aspirant in Anambra State, Chioma Ifemeludike, has sparked reactions online after he mocked Governor Charles Soludo over severe flooding recorded in parts of the state following heavy rain.

In a viral post, Chioma sarcastically described the flooded road as a “new pool project” allegedly initiated by Governor Soludo, whom she mockingly referred to as “Governor Amuneke” and “The Solution”.

According to her:

“Ndi Anambra, Governor ‘Amuneke’ aka Soludo has now made relaxation easy and cheap😩. Ndi Ogidi, Njikoka, Ofor Igwe and Umunachi, you no longer have to go to Awka Fun City to swim. This pool is the latest project of Governor ‘Amuneke’ aka Anambra State Solution. When Sami people sell their votes for crumbs, suffering and distress become inevitable…”

The announcement came amid complaints from residents over worsening flooding and poor drainage systems in several communities across Anambra State during the rainy season.

However, her comments drew mixed reactions online, as some residents blamed citizens’ bad environmental habits, while others blamed the government for failing to provide adequate infrastructure.

Reacting to the situation, X user @bros_aik wrote:

“You blocked the drainage and you’re blaming the governor. Are you people serious?”

Another user, @SmRevolu, added:

“All those who are destroying Nigeria today are still citizens of Nigeria. Until we start holding ourselves accountable, real change will be difficult.”

Some residents claim that the flooding problem has existed for years.

“This road has been like this since time immemorial,” commented @Armani_szn.

Sharing a personal experience, @ichrisonuora wrote:

“Haha, my brother’s car steering failed here today (too much water) 😭😭, we were just talking about it.”

Others took the opportunity to draw attention to broader infrastructure challenges in the state.

“What about us in Ogbaru, we don’t have electricity and our roads have never been built yet,” lamented @EkeneUdogwu.

Another user, @lokky_xy, emphasized the need for long-term solutions:

“This is painful to watch. Anambra has serious flooding problems every rainy season. The government needs to seriously invest in drainage systems and urban planning. Political scoffing aside, the people are suffering.”
