Former Big Brother Naija winner Phyna revealed that one of her biggest regrets is spending a large portion of the money she won on the reality show family responsibilities instead of investing them wisely.
Speaking during a recent livestream, the reality star, whose real name is Josephina Otabor, admitted that after leaving the show, she was young and inexperienced and didn’t manage her finances well.
According to Phyna, instead of getting guidance on how to invest or secure her future, many of her family members kept looking to her for financial help.
She stated that some of them later turned against her whenever she could not fulfill their demands.

“The mistake I made was that I used my Big Brother Naija prize money to support family members instead of investing it. I thought I was helping my family members and clearing their debts. I was spending generously on them. None of my senior family members called me to give me financial advice on how to invest or manage money well.
All of them kept asking me for money for various things. I dug a lot of wells for family members. But the moment I started saying ‘No’ was the beginning of my problems with family members. They complain and even call me names in the media whenever I can’t meet their demands. But now that the money is gone, I’m the only one facing reality alone.”
