Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effong has sparked backlash online after he shared his opinion on how women should deal with cheating in marriage.
Speaking during a recent discussion, the actor stated that when a husband cheats, a woman’s first reaction should not be self-serving anger, but an attempt to help him overcome the problem.
According to him:
“If your husband is cheating on you, the first thing is to find a way to help him out of the problem. Don’t be selfish.”
His statement quickly went viral on social media, with many Nigerians sharply divided over his stance on infidelity and marriage.
Reacting to the comment, X user @RealAbelabsn wrote:
“If your husband cheats on you as a wife, don’t make the mistake of leaving the marriage or trying to do the same thing.”
However, others strongly disagree with the actor’s stance.
