A disturbing video circulating on social media has sparked widespread reactions after a Nigerian woman was allegedly arrested for smoking weeds wrapped in torn pages of the Bible.
In the viral footage, a woman dressed in colorful clothes and a white hijab, was seen holding what appeared to be rolled up cannabis with pages allegedly torn from a Bible as he was interrogated by a man behind the camera.
During the exchange, the woman openly admitted to the act and seemed unfazed by the accusations leveled at her.
“I’m very proud of what I use,” she said.
When asked if she smokes that substance, the woman replied: “Yes, to pray!”
The man who shot the video claims the woman had previously undergone rehabilitation after authorities allegedly took her two children from custody due to concerns about her mental and emotional state.
According to him, she was showing signs of recovery after treatment and reportedly promised to stop smoking weed before being allowed to return home.
He, however, stated that the woman had recently relapsed and was again caught smoking cannabis wrapped in pages torn from the Bible.
“She tears off part of the Bible and wraps it around the grass. This is what she smokes,” said the man in the video.
The narrator further claimed that the woman had caused a disturbance near the entrance to the children’s school earlier that day, prompting concerned individuals to intervene.
“It has seriously deteriorated and has been causing disturbances,” he added.
