Nigerian striker Victor Udoh died at the age of 21

Viktor UdohThe former Southampton and Royal Antwerp forward has died aged 21 in Nigeria, with some describing his death as “under suspicious circumstances”.
According to The Mirror UK, Udoh was discovered dead in Abuja, although the actual cause of death was not known at the time of reporting this article.
The young striker has just returned to Nigeria after leaving Dynamo České Budějovice, the Czech club he joined after leaving Southampton in 2025.
Royal Antwerp acknowledged his death in a statement posted on their official X Twitter account on Tuesday.
“It is with great sadness that RAFC has learned of the death of former player Victor Udoh (21).
“Victor joined Bosuil in the 2023/2024 season and in his first season with the Young Reds he scored twelve goals in 21 appearances. That season he also made his debut for the first team at home against Charleroi. Victor made 28 official appearances for The Great Old and provided two assists before joining Southampton.
“Our thoughts are with Victor’s family, friends and loved ones.” We wish them strength, support and comfort in this difficult time.
“Rest in peace Viktor” wrote the club.
Udoh signed a three-and-a-half-year deal with Southampton and spent around seven months there without a senior appearance before leaving by mutual consent in search of more playing time.
Before moving to England, he played for Royal Antwerp, where he progressed from the reserve team after signing for Hypebuzz from Abuja.
Pierre Dwomoh, Udoh’s former teammate and Watford midfielder, reacted to the news on Instagram. “I woke up to it on Tuesday morning,” Dwomoh explained.
