“They rejected us and sent us back because we are Nigerians” – shouts a man after the alleged deportation from Mauritius

Nigerian man he cried out online after he was allegedly refused entry to Mauritius despite arriving in the country on holiday with all the necessary travel documents.

In a viral video shared on X (formerly Twitter) by @dammiedammie95, he claimed to have traveled to Mauritius to relax and had already booked hotels and tourist centers before he was allegedly turned away by immigration officials and deported along with others.

“Mauritius refused our visa after we arrived. Everyone is kicking Nigerians out of their country,” he lamented.

The man claimed they were separated for questioning and allegedly treated like criminals despite completing all the necessary preparations for the trip.

He further revealed that he had a hotel reservation, a yellow card, proof of funds and other required travel documents but he was still reportedly denied entry because he is a Nigerian.

“I have already booked my hotel, a 5-star hotel, a tourist reservation center, three places. I have a yellow card, I have everything, even the required cash. They deported us just because we are Nigerians,” he added.

The video has since sparked reactions online, with many Nigerians expressing frustration at how citizens abroad are allegedly being treated because of the country’s image.

The incident continues to trend on social media as debates about the treatment of Nigerians abroad continue to spread.
