“We didn’t come just to look beautiful” — Rita Dominic kicks off the Miss Nigeria 2026 pageant with a beauty and fashion fair

With the Miss Nigeria 2026 season just around the corner and the first event, the Beauty and Fashion Fair, arriving on March 23, the president of the Miss Nigeria Organization Rita Dominik set the tone for a striking visual campaign that is poised, forward-looking and vision-based.
Her message is clear and doesn’t leave much room for interpretation. “Miss Nigeria 2026 pageant season is upon us. And we didn’t just come to look pretty. No, we’re here for more.” It is a declaration that reshapes the narrative of opulence in Nigeria, not as a stage for appearances, but as a platform for influence, leadership and transformation.
The opening of the season with the Beauty and Fashion Fair is intentional and symbolic. It places Nigerian women not only at the center of fashion and beauty, but also at the forefront of economic participation, creativity and entrepreneurship. The following will be presented at the fair:
- New and established cosmetic and fashion brands
- A dynamic showcase of Nigerian entrepreneurship
- Industry talks and networking opportunities
- The long-awaited Daily Times Young Fashion Designer of the Year award
At the heart of the 2026 season is the theme “She’s Made of More” — more than beauty, more than a title, more even than a crown. The campaign draws on Miss Nigeria’s decades of legacy, with a long line of women who have become some of Nigeria’s most influential leaders in business, media, advocacy and public service. Through intimate portraits, interviews and powerful statements, former queens and rising voices share what “more” means to them — resilience, ambition, intellect, culture, vision and influence.

This year, the conversation is expanding even more, developing into a broader cultural reflection. Nigerians are made of more. It is both a confirmation and a challenge, a recognition of the resilience, creativity and innovation that Nigerians naturally possess, but also a call for greater ownership, responsibility and action, especially among the youth who are navigating today’s reality.
As part of the beauty and fashion expo, Miss Nigeria also presents a series of bold and thought-provoking panel discussions designed to spark real dialogue. Conversations are rooted in the lived realities of Nigerians, addressing the gap between potential and action and questioning what it really means to build, succeed and contribute to a better Nigeria. Panels will bring together voices from the fashion and beauty industry to unpack what is often left unsaid, covering questions such as:
- What does it really take to build something out of nothing?
- Do young people work hard enough on the opportunities they have?
- Beyond systemic challenges, where does personal responsibility begin?
- How to move from conversation to tangible progress?
In addition to public relations events, the season will also include more intimate high-level engagements, including a select invitation-only evening that will bring together key stakeholders, industry leaders and cultural voices from the Miss Nigeria community. It’s an ongoing commitment to creating spaces where influence, collaboration and meaningful dialogue intersect, extending the platform’s influence far beyond the stage.
The Miss Nigeria 2026 beauty and fashion show is taking place on March 23.
