Tyla wins two major awards at the American Music Awards



Tylathe South African artist, emerged as one of the biggest winners at the 52nd American Music Awards in Las Vegas, taking home two top honors.
The 24-year-old sensation won the Best Afrobeats Artist category, beating top African artists such as Burna Boy, Wizkid, Rema and MOLIY.
Tyla also won Social Song of the Year for her hit song CHANEL, making her the only African artist to receive the award at this year’s event held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena and hosted by Queen Latifah.
The singer entered the night as the most nominated African artist in the history of the American Music Awards, with four honors, including Best Female R&B Artist and Best Music Video.
Released in 2025, “CHANEL” was a huge worldwide success, garnering millions of streams and cementing Tyla’s growing dominance in the international music industry.
The double triumph is another huge achievement for the singer, whose hit single Water helped position her as one of Africa’s leading crossover singers.
