Rudiger agreed to extend his contract with Real Madrid

Antonio Rudiger allegedly agreed a new contract with Real Madridending speculation over his future at the club.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano reported on Tuesday that the German defender has reached a verbal agreement with the Spanish giants over a new deal that will run until June 2027.
Rudiger’s previous contract was due to expire at the end of next month, raising uncertainty over whether he will remain at the Santiago Bernabeu beyond this season.
Injury problems limited Rudiger
The 33-year-old endured a difficult 2025-26 season after struggling with injuries and inconsistent form.
Rudiger made just 18 La Liga appearances during the season, falling short of the standard he had previously set since arriving from Chelsea.

Despite the setbacks, Real Madrid have now decided to keep the experienced centre-back at the club for at least two more seasons.
The Germany international, who has made 82 appearances for his country, is expected to play a role in the club’s rebuilding process ahead of next season.
The return of Mourinho could shape a new chapter
Reports have also linked Jose Mourinho with a return to Real Madrid, with suggestions the Portuguese coach could help revive Rudiger’s form.
The defender was reportedly involved in dressing room tensions during the campaign, including disagreements involving Alvaro Arbeloa and team-mate Alvaro Carreras.
However, those issues now appear to have been resolved as Rudiger prepares for a new chapter at the club.
