“I’m traumatized…” – shouts the lady after the alleged arrest, extortion of 100 thousand pounds by the policemen

Nigerian lady caused reactions after she told her alleged experience with policemen after she and her colleague were allegedly arrested on their way home from work.
According to her, the incident happened at around 8am when policemen allegedly raided the area, confiscated their phones and took them along with other people to the police station even though they found nothing illegal on them.
Narrating the ordeal, she said:
“Nigeria happened to me yesterday after I was going home from work. When I asked why they arrested me, they slapped me.”
The lady claimed that she was later placed in a cell with other men and was allegedly asked to pay a large sum of money before she and her colleague could regain his freedom.
She further stated that after begging for a smaller amount, they were forced to sign a statement claiming no extortion before being released.
“They told me to bring ₦200,000. I had to beg for ₦100,000 for me and my colleague. I’m traumatized,” she added.
Her story has contributed to ongoing conversations online about alleged police harassment, illegal detention and extortion in the country.
