The family of the late Nollywood star Alexx Ekubo has announced details of his final funeral arrangements, with ceremonies expected to be completed on June 18, 2026.
Ekubo reportedly died on May 11 after battling kidney cancer, throwing the Nigerian entertainment industry into mourning.
In a statement shared on Monday via the actor’s official Instagram account, the family appealed to friends, fans and well-wishers to keep them in their prayers during the period of grief.
As part of the funeral activities, a service of carols has been arranged for June 10, 2026 at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki, Lagos.
The event is scheduled to run from 16:00 to 18:00 and guests are asked to attend in white.
The wake ceremony will hold later on June 17 at the family homestead in Aziukwukwa, Ujari village, Arochukwu, Abia state.
According to the program released by the family, the funeral service and burial will take place on June 18. The church service is billed for Mary Slessor School, after which the late actor will be laid to rest at his family residence in Arochukwu.
A reception is also expected to follow immediately after the burial at Mary Slessor School, Amanagwu Village and mourners are asked to adhere to white attire throughout the ceremony.
