“I don’t even have O-levels”

Popular Nollywood actor Ibrahim Chatta has responded to frequent claims by fans that he is underrated in the film industry.

Speaking in a recent interview with Akin Abolade, the actor stated that he disagrees with such opinions, explaining that given his education, he believes he has achieved much more than he could have ever imagined.

Ibrahim Chatta talks about education

According to Chatta, he has not completed formal education and does not even own one O-level certificate.

The actor noted that when he compares himself to some of his colleagues in the industry, he feels grateful for how far he has come in life and career.

he said: “…if we are going to judge by formal education, I think I, Ibrahim Chatta, should open doors for people like actor Femi Adebayo and actor Odunlade Adekola and others because I didn’t go to any school. In fact, I don’t even have O-levels.”

“I don’t deserve everything I have”

The movie star explained that he is embarrassed whenever people describe him as underrated because he sees his success as a blessing rather than something he takes for granted.

He added: “So it always pisses me off when people say I’m underrated. I don’t think I deserve all that I have, it’s God’s grace that I enjoy and I don’t take it for granted.”

Appreciate the love of the fans

Despite disagreeing with the “underrated” label, Chatta admitted that many fans use the word simply because of the love and admiration they have for him.

He also revealed that professors and graduates are now using his work, describing it as a blessing.

“I have so many graduate employees, professors who use my work, so why should I be labeled underrated? Even though I know the love that some of my fans have for me is what makes them say so much,” he said.
