- The product is marketed as a comprehensive menstrual care kit for girls nine years of age and older.
- Girls Tag is priced at N25,000.

Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has faced backlash online after she was unveiled as the brand ambassador for a menstrual care product known as Girls Tag, reportedly priced at N25,000.
The product, described as an all-in-one menstrual care kit for girls aged nine and above, was recently launched with Mercy Johnson and her daughter, Purity Okojie, featured as brand ambassadors.
Soon after the announcement, actress Regina Daniels was also revealed as another brand ambassador.
However, the launch drew mixed reactions on social media. Many critics condemned the prices, calling them unrealistic and insensitive, given the economic challenges many Nigerian women and girls face. Some users also pointed out that the high cost of menstrual products can force many young girls to skip school or resort to unsafe alternatives during menstruation.

@Lai:”PHIL, not all are philanthropists! X Nigeria’s problems are not everyone’s problem. She knows who the clients are..she is not interested in average Nigerian ladies or every girl. Again, not all are philanthropists. We are not telling dangote to sell fuel at 100 to support the poor or small business owners.. This is business.. and again, Nigeria is not everyone’s problem.”
@ Ms Jorji: “Mercy Johnson, you are a disgrace to women. In a country where women struggle to afford a sanitary pad, you want to charge 25 grand for a sanitary pad.”
@Tall Edo Girl: “The target audience has to be mean.”
@Rebekah: “Dear @realmercyj, Nigeria is a poor country. Elitism should never extend to the basic rights and dignity of girls and women. Sanitary pads are not luxury items. How many Nigerians can realistically afford #25k a month for basic necessities, what’s wrong with us Nigerians?”
@Ara:”The way some of you kiss celebrity ass is irritating. In a country where sanitary pads are supposed to be free, someone sells them for 25k and I see, “oh, the packaging is worth it” yen yen yen. Hypocrites!, because since when did pads start having a target audience???”
@Matt: To be honest, sanitary napkins shouldn’t cost this much, I believe it should be a basic amenity like food!”
Gift @Okafor: “I’m selling a pillow for 25k. Like how???”
@Olaámi:”Most Nigerian celebrities don’t really stand for anything, all they care about is their bottom line. Greedy assholes.”
